Effingham Junior High School took a win over Mattoon Tuesday in girls softball with a 15-9 score in six innings.
Patton led with a double and three RBI. Hartke and Gouchenhour had a double and two RBI while Roberts finished with two singles and two RBI.
Hartke pitched three innings and gave up eight runs and Wiedmen also pitched three innings and gave up four runs to end the game with a win.

Dieterich took a loss against Jasper County, 16-6 Tuesday. Dieterich jumped ahead with two runs in the first and added two more runs in the second.
Bruns and Tegeler pitched three innings each.
Jasper County came back in the seventh with nine runs winning the game.
