Marcia Marie Fearday, 71, passed away peacefully at home on August 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on January 12, 1955, in Sigel, Illinois, Marcia was the cherished daughter of Martin and Louise (Bushur) Niebrugge. She built a full, purposeful life alongside her devoted husband, Dean. Together as true partners in life and work, they built and operated a grain bin business and later established D&M Electrical. Through decades of hard work, Marcia’s welcoming nature and integrity turned countless customers into lifelong friends.
Marcia’s greatest joy was always her family. Known for her generous heart, quick smile, and legendary sweet tooth, she brought warmth and sweetness into every room she entered. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and an adored grandmother and great-grandmother whose steady presence and unconditional love anchored those around her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Dean Fearday; her daughters, Angie (Kyle) Worthey of Neoga, Rhonda (Scott) Hoppin of Mattoon, and Tiffany (Danny) Reed of Mattoon; her grandchildren, Kayli (Brandon) Bontrager of Arthur, Tyler (Baily) Worthey of Charleston, Sophia Hoppin of St. Louis, Missouri, and Gabe and Leona Reed of Mattoon; step-grandchildren Christy Worthey of Mattoon, IL, Samantha (Nick) Spivey of Waynesville, MO, Shawna (Reese) Newlin, and Rachael (Jacob) Hanley; great-granddaughter, Harper Bontrager of Arthur, and step great-grandchildren Noah, Ricky, and Colin Spivey of Waynesville, MO, William and Elizabeth Worthey of Mattoon, IL.
She is also survived by her siblings, Gene (Janet) Niebrugge, Charlie (Jeannine) Niebrugge, Norma Newman, Bernie Niebrugge, Diane (Bill) Wheat, Theresa (David) Rogers, Steve Niebrugge, Joanie Mendenhall, Linda (John) Temple, Mark (Jeanette) Niebrugge, Caroline Niebrugge, and Curt (Maisa) Niebrugge; in-laws Jerry (Connie) Fearday and Dan (Alice) Fearday; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Louise (Bushur) Niebrugge; sisters, Patricia (Lester) Cheadle and Connie Laver; brother, Philip Niebrugge; parents-in-law Everett & Leona Fearday; brothers-in-law, Virgil (Margaret) Fearday, Mike Mendenhall, and Joe Boyt Sr.; and sisters-in-law, Peggy Niebrugge and Judy Niebrugge.
Visitation will be held Sunday August 23, 2026 from 10am until 1pm at the Swengel-O’Dell Funeral Home in Neoga, Illinois. A Life Celebration Service will follow at 1pm at the funeral home.
