Barbara Joan Pals, 91, of Teutopolis, passed away on August 14, 2026.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis. Arrangements are in the care of Bauer Funeral Home in Teutopolis.
Barbara was born January 7, 1935, the daughter of Joseph and Adeline Pals. She dedicated her life to education and service. Barbara was a member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate and devoted many years to teaching. She taught at Green Creek Schools and also taught at St. Michael School in Sigel, touching the lives of many students throughout her career.
Barbara cherished her family and especially enjoyed spending time with them. She also had a special love for her pet dogs, who brought her great companionship and joy.
She is survived by her sisters, Janet Koester, Patricia Wernsing, Catherine Caccioppole and Darlene (husband, Larry) Hardiek, along with her extended family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald; sister, Ruth Ann Nanz; and brothers-in-law, Joe Caccioppole, James Koester, William Wernsing, and Keith Nanz.
Barbara will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
