Effingham High School kicks off its 2026 varsity football season Friday, Aug. 21, at Breese Central and – as always! – you can catch every game with Dustin White and Matt Robinson right here on 979 XFM and online at thexradio.com. Kickoff every week is at 7 p.m. with a pregame show hitting the airwaves at 6:45.
With that opening contest just days away, EHS Head Football Coach Brett Hefner was nice enough to spend a little time talking to Dustin about the upcoming season; who’s back, who’s new, and who’s stepping into new roles at the varsity level as the Flaming Hearts get set to face a challenging non-conference slate and plenty of good battles within the Apollo Conference.
