Rain has canceled harness racing today at the 82nd Annual Effingham County Fair. Here’s a look at what else is scheduled:
The Freedom 250 Museum will be open from 11am to 9pm, located just behind the grandstand on the fairgrounds at Altamont. Seven heats of harness racing is scheduled. Post time is 12 noon. Hear the action on KJ Country 102.3.
The Community Showcase will continue with presentations at 3:30pm and 5:30pm in the Schuetzenfest Building. Avery Bohnhoff will perform on the free stage at 5pm.
Luehr’s Carnival opens at 6pm, and it’ll be a wrist band night.
The feature evening attraction will be the Whippoorwill Rodeo, sponsored by Rural King.
Judging will include the 4-H and Junior Dairy Cattle Show at 9am and the 4-H and Junior Pygmy Goat show at 1pm. Hear 4-H judging results today at 8:45am on KJ Country 102.3.
Open show judging will include the Class U Meat Goat Show at 9am.
