With hearts shattered beyond words, our precious daughter, Paisley Grace Thoele, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, at the age of four. Though her life was far too short, every one of her beautiful years was filled with love, laughter, and countless memories that will live in our hearts forever.
A public visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup. A private family funeral service will be held. Burial will be in the Aten Cemetery in Hidalgo.
Born on April 28, 2022, in Effingham, Illinois, Paisley was the treasured daughter of Ryan and Lacey (Eggers) Thoele and the loving big sister of Porter, who meant the world to her. She loved her family with all her heart and was incredibly protective of her little brother. Her gentle spirit, kind heart, and sweet smile touched everyone who had the blessing of knowing her.
Paisley is survived by her loving parents, Ryan and Lacey Thoele; her beloved little brother, Porter Thoele; her grandparents, April (Kirk) James, William (Dena) Eggers, Don (Bev) Thoele, andKristy (John) Slifer; her great-grandparents, Marilyn (Buddy) Post and Judy Wilson; her aunts and uncles, Kelsey (Patrick) Bartels, Morgan (Renee) James, Shae (Nick) Zumbahlen, Hannah (Kris) Eggers; her cousins, Kalynn, Aaron, Myla, Atalie, Avery, Ella, Clovie, Lane, Arthur, Reba, Lily, Oliver, and Karter; and many other loving relatives and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her great-great-grandparents, Rodger Niccum, Margaret Niccum, Roy Eggers, Cecil (Lois) Thilker, and Ermund (Dorothy) Thoele.
Paisley was a true country girl. She loved camping with her mommy and daddy, riding her beloved pony, Millie, splashing in the creek, and swimming on warm summer days. She found joy in every adventure outdoors and treasured every moment spent with her family. She loved dressing up in her favorite princess dresses, putting on makeup, and twirling around the house as if she were royalty. Music filled her heart, and she could often be found singing sweet songs and dancing through the house with the most beautiful little voice. Her laughter was contagious, and her smile could brighten anyone’s day. Paisley was polite, thoughtful, and full of compassion. She had a heart that naturally cared for others and was always eager to help her mommy and daddy with
whatever they were doing. Whether it was a simple chore, helping outside, or simply wanting to be by their side, she found happiness in being part of everything they did. Paisley didn’t just carry the name Grace—she embodied it. Her gentle spirit, joyful heart, and the way she skipped, danced, and rode her beloved pony reflected the
quiet beauty of grace every day. She cherished the time she spent playing with her cousin and best friend, Ella, making memories filled with laughter, imagination, and love that will never be
forgotten. Although our hearts are broken and there are no words to ease the pain of losing her, we find comfort in knowing that the love Paisley gave so freely will remain with us forever. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, innocence, joy, and unconditional love that will continue to shine through everyone whose life she touched. Our sweet Paisley Grace, you were our greatest blessing, our brightest light, and the most beautiful gift God could have ever entrusted to us. We will miss your hugs, your giggles, your songs, your adventurous spirit, and the love you gave so freely every single day. Until we meet again, sweet girl. Ride your pony through Heaven’s fields, sing with the angels, dance among the flowers, and know that you will forever be loved, forever be missed, and forever be in our hearts. We love you always.
