Judith E. “Judy” Stuemke (85) of Altamont

Judith E. ‘Judy’ Stuemke, 85, of Altamont died at 11:30 a.m., Monday, August 3, 2026 at Lutheran Care Center, Altamont.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont with Jim Sporleder officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Altamont. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to Lutheran Care Center or to the donor’s choice.

Judy was born on Tuesday, December 17, 1940, in rural Mason, IL to Otto and Emma (Bergman) Budde. She married Samuel Stuemke on July 2, 1960, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Louisville. She was a member of Hillside Church of Faith. She was a homemaker and her greatest joy was her family and spending time with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. She showed her Great Faith in Jesus by showing love to everyone in her life.

She is survived by: her husband of over 66 years, Sam Stuemke of Altamont; son, Dwight (Lori) Stuemke of Altamont; daughters, Deb (John) Wohltman of Altamont and Paula (Jim) Sporleder of Effingham; sister, Carolyn Hammer of Altamont; 7 grandchildren, Josh (Becky) Wohltman, Jenna (Brock) Murray, Bethany (Lee) Doyle, Emily Stuemke, Ben (Mary) Sporleder, Alex (fiancée, Emily Kaurin) Sporleder, and Jonah Sporleder; 10 great grandchildren, Graham, Cade, Charlotte, Evan, Frederick, Linden, Naomi, Owen, Matthew, and Luca; sister-in-law, Betty Budde of Argenta.

Judy was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, Rufus (Loma) Budde, Delmar Budde, Henry Budde, Darrel (Doris) Budde, Eldred Budde and Mervin Budde; sisters, Bernice (Ray) Wolf, Elnora Budde, Joan Cunningham and Janice Holste.
