The Fayette County Coroner’s Office was called out to a location near Farina Wednesday evening in regard to a death.
Apparently the decedent, who was identified as 40-year-old Antwan D. Johnson of the Chicago area, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene. Others assisting at the scene that evening were the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and the Farina First Responders.
Later, Fayette County Coroner Dave Harris had contact with the Harvey, Illinois Police Department. Harris was informed that Johnson was being investigated there in regard to two murdered victims.
An autopsy on Johnson was performed in Springfield on Friday.
Now joining the investigation of Johnson’s death along with the Fayette County Coroner’s Office and the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is the Harvey Police Department and the CSI division of the Illinois State Police.
