CHARLESTON — Guiding four horses to victory at the Coles County Fair Wednesday was Wyatt Avenatti.
Avenatti took the opening win on the racing card, the Illini 3-Year-Old Filly Trot, behind Broadway and Lou. Avenatti guided the filly to the victory in 2:03 1/5. Steven Searle owns and trains Broadway and Lou.
Avenatti then won behind Here Comes Bob in the Illini 3-Year-Old Colt/Gelding Trot, Division 2. The pair went the distance in 2:02 4/5 for owner and trainer Searle.
The wins were back-to-back as Avenatti won the next race, the Illini 3-Year-Old Colt/Gelding Pace. He claimed the win behind Fox Valley Onassis for owner and trainer Kevin Miller in 1:59 1/5.
Avenatti then finished out the card with a victory in the final race of the day, the 2 & 3-Year-Old Open Trot.
He guided Shady Maple Delite to the win in 2:06 3/5 for trainer Tom Simmons.
Juan Franco claimed two wins in the bike. He won the Illini 3-Year-Old FiIly Pace, Division 2 with Calico Sunset in 1:59 4/5. Leroy Hunt trained Calico Sunset.
Franco then took the Nonwinners $7,500 Lifetime Pace behind Rockin Fave. Rockin Fave was a winner in 2:01 3/5 for owner and trainer Wayne Brown.
