Two criminal cases in Fayette County were ended this week with the handing down of prison sentences.

57-year-old Joseph A. Morris of Altamont pled guilty Tuesday to a count of aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer. The sentence will run concurrent with cases in Effingham and Cumberland County.

Judge Bryan Kibler sentenced Morris to three years in prison. Morris had been arrested in July of 2025.

Ramsey resident Chad D. Wehrle of Ramsey was sentenced by Judge Kibler to six years in prison. The 50-year-old Wehrle pled guilty to a charge of unlawful possession of methamphetamine. Wehrle was originally arrested in February of 2025 on a Class X felony count of methamphetamine delivery.
