A local man has been sentenced to prison on a drug charge.
28-year-old Anthony A. Brown pleaded guilty to methamphetamine delivery. He was arrested in May by Effingham City Police, Effingham County Sheriff’s Deputies, and the agencies’ Special Response Team. The arrest resulted from an investigation by city police and the Drug Enforcement Administration that revealed illegal narcotic activity in a residence in the 400 block of St. Anthony Avenue.
Brown was sentenced this week to four years in prison. Once out of prison, he will serve one year of mandatory supervised release.
