A Buffalo, New York man arrested on charges in Effingham County has been sentenced to prison.
38-year-old Derrick Anderson pleaded guilty to manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to deliver more than 5,000 grams of cannabis. Anderson and another Buffalo resident were arrested by Illinois State Police in March of 2023. The other individual, Eric Hemphill, was sentenced in 2024.
Anderson was sentenced by Allan Lolie to three years in prison. Other charges were dismissed. Anderson was given credit for more than a year served in jail awaiting disposition of his case. Once out of prison, Anderson will serve a year of mandatory supervised release.
