Members of the Teutopolis school board took no action at Monday’s meeting on a draft bond referendum question and a draft bond referendum resolution concerning the potential renovation of Teutopolis Grade School.
The Board plans to move sixth grade classes to the junior high building to provide space for improvements at the grade school. A portion of Monday’s meeting included a review of prior facility planning conversations, information through the District’s “Facilities: A Clear View” website, three conceptual facility options and estimated costs, and previously discussed borrowing scenarios.
Board members directed Teutopolis Superintendent Matt Sturgeon to make both draft documents available for community review. The matter may come up for a vote at the August board meeting. The Board also directed Sturgeon to continue developing public information resources.

The Board also received an update from Sturgeon on the junior high building expansion and renovation, the resurfacing of the high school gym floor, the ongoing discussion with Teutopolis village officials regarding Tax Increment Financing, the latest on student registration, and a community solar credit discussion.
Board members approved a leave of absence request for Tara Niemerg, and hired Kevin McKenna as high school eSports sponsor, Jon Lee as high girls tennis coach, and Kathy Lee as high school girls tennis volunteer.
