Jane Lena White, age 84, of Brownstown, Illinois, passed Thursday, July 16, 2026, at
Lakeland Rehab and Health Care Center, Effingham, Illinois, surrounded by the love of
her family.

Funeral service will be held at Pagel Funeral Home, St. Peter, Illinois, on Sunday,
August 16, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to start of service. Terry
Sapp will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lakeland Rehab
and Health Care Center Activities fund or donor’s choice. Online condolences can be

Jane was born on December 16, 1941, in LaClede Township, Illinois, the daughter of
Glen Gesell and Alma (Wollin) Gesell. She married Ruba “Rubo” White on February 28,
1959, in Farina, Illinois. She enjoyed flower gardening, crocheting, and spending time
with her loving family. She spent many years caring for her husband before he preceded
her in death on January 27, 2013.

Jane is survived by her son; Brett (Julie) White, of St. Peter, Illinois, two daughters;
Cathy (Kerry) Stein, of Brownstown, Illinois, Nancy (Randy) Hinton of St. Peter, Illinois,
grandchildren; Carla (Keith) Karban, Kristal (Steve) Fournie, Kyle (Christa) Stein,
Clayton (Katie) Hinton, Jesse (Michelle) Hinton, Jorden (Adam) Lauwers, Shelbi (Ben)
Wigger, and Jay (girlfriend, Angela) White, great-grandchildren; Nolan and Alaina
Karban, Owen, Lilly, and Oliver Lauwers, Sawyer Hinton, Hudson Moore, Payton
Malone, Kylen Stein, Ellie Fournie, Hayes and Delanie Hinton and Maylee Wigger, and
numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Rubo White, parents; Glen and Alma
Gesell; her sisters Betty (Gesell) Garrett and Irene (Gesell) Heffner.
