Many local trap teams and individuals qualified and participated in the USA Clay Target League National High School Championship in Mason, Michigan July 10-12.
Local schools with teams and individuals participating included Altamont, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, Dieterich, Effingham, St Elmo-Brownstown, Stewardson-Strasburg, and Teutopolis.
Two-hundred and forty teams competed in Friday’s team competition for a chance to advance to Sunday’s finals. Teams from Dieterich, Effingham, Stewardson-Strasburg, and Teutopolis advanced to the finals.
In the Finals Competition, Dieterich placed 15th, Teutopolis placed 27th, Stewardson-Strasburg placed 40th and Effingham placed 44th.
On Saturday, 1,800 individuals competed for a chance to advance to Sunday’s finals. 11 local athletes advanced.
In the overall male division,

— Dylan Huber of Dieterich placed 162nd
— Bo Kreke from Teutopolis placed 268th
— Cody Hemmen from Teutopolis placed 304th
— Braxton Hoene of Stew-Stras placed 308th
— Brock Niemerg of Dieterich placed 327th
— Hayden Wendling of Effingham placed 338th
— Kaden Field of Effingham placed 355th
In the overall female division,
— Grace Hahn of Dieterich placed 5th
— Aubree Antrim of Stew-Stras placed 8th.
