The Olney Police Department and Richland County Sheriff’s Office requested the Illinois State Police (ISP) investigate two homicides in Olney.
Officers responded to two homes in the 400 block of East Monroe Street in Olney shortly after 3pm Tuesday. Officers found two deceased individuals in separate homes, 52-year-old John D. Jones Jr., and 73-year-old Deborah J. Jones. One person is in custody and there is no risk to the public.
This is an ongoing investigation and police say no additional information is available at this time.
