Teutopolis village board members continue to move ahead with plans for a third Tax Increment Financing district.
The Board passed a resolution scheduling a public hearing to consider the redevelopment plan and project for what is known as the South Smith Street TIF Redevelopment Project Area. The area is on the west edge of the village, south across the CSX Railroad.
The public hearing is scheduled for 6pm on August 19.
The Board also passed the appropriations ordinance for the fiscal year. The measure calls for $29,752,732 in appropriations. The measure is retroactive to the start of the fiscal year, which is May 1.
Board members decided against considering the purchase of Flock cameras for the village police department, but voted to have Village Attorney Tracy Willenborg develop a measure allowing the Oktoberfest band to play until midnight and to permit golf carts and side by sides out until midnight on Oktoberfest on September 26.
