Kenneth E. Gouchenouer, 79, of Altamont, died at 2:05 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2026 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont with Pastor Bill Weaver officiating. Burial will follow at St. Clare Cemetery, Altamont. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Monday, July 6, 2026. Memorial may be made to the American Heart Association or the donor’s choice. Family requests casual attire.
Kenneth was born on Friday, March 28, 1947 in Dewitt, Arkansas to Orville and Buna (Phillips) Gouchenouer. He married Linda Willenborg. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from World Color Press, Effingham after 32 years, and then worked for Penske and the Jackson Township.
He is survived by: his wife, Linda of Altamont; son, Christopher ‘Toby’ (Melissa) Gouchenouer of Lake Mary, FL; daughter-in-law, Jonna Gouchenouer of Springfield; daughter, Cassie (John) Will of Newton; grandchildren, Justin (Brooke), Kayla, Shelby (Ashton), Ben, Kelsie (Josh), Adrianne, Sophia, Lucas and Cecelia; great grandchildren, Ford, Lincoln, Konner, Tessa and Avery; brothers, Larry (Rona) Gouchenouer of Louisville, Jerry Gouchenouer of Oak Grove, KY, Paul (Brenda) Gouchenouer of Shumway, and Alan Gouchenouer of Assumption; sisters, JoAnn Holzhausen of Loganville, GA, Peggy Blunt of Vandalia, and Joyce (Brent) Hunter of St. Jacob; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, JT Gouchenouer, Frank Gouchenouer, Carl Gouchenouer, David Gouchenouer, Donnie Gouchenouer and Leroy Gouchenouer; sister, Patty
Gouchenouer and son, Kenneth Gouchenouer Jr.
