One of the places visited by Governor J.B. Pritzker during his stop in Effingham County Wednesday is now part of a GoFundMe effort.
Meyer Dairy Farm of Teutopolis, a family-owned operation that has served the community for more than 100 years, is rebuilding after a June 17 tornado killed dairy cows and caused extensive damage that halted daily operations. A GoFundMe organized by Amy Frese is raising money to help the Meyer family replace livestock, equipment and lost income as they work to restore the century-old farm. The surviving cows have been temporarily relocated to neighboring farms while rebuilding efforts continue.
30 donations have generated $3,275.
