Traffic was re-routed off I-70 westbound near Greenup after a fatal crash.
The crash occurred around midday Saturday about five miles west of the Greenup interchange. Traffic was re-routed off the interstate and south on Illinois Route 130 to Newton, then westbound on Illinois Route 33 to Effingham, where traffic could get back on the interstate.
The action routed many semis through Newton, Dieterich and Effingham.
No information is yet available on the crash.
