Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation is providing funding from the Southeastern Illinois Disaster Relief Fund for a local people-helping agency.

A grant is being awarded to Enduring Freedom Ministries in Shumway. EFM will use the funding to provide cleanup supplies, food, clothing, and other recovery assistance to individuals and families affected by the recent severe storms.

The Disaster Relief Fund is made possible through the generosity of local donors and support from the Ralph and June Kidwell Endowment.

“One of the greatest strengths of our communities is the willingness of neighbors to help neighbors” said Alex Pleasant, President & CEO of the Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation. “We’re grateful to partner with organizations like Enduring Freedom Ministries that are deeply connected to their communities and able to provide timely assistance where it’s needed most.”

As recovery efforts continue, the Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation remains committed to working alongside trusted local organizations to ensure charitable dollars are directed where they can have the greatest impact.

“The generosity of our donors and the flexibility of the Southeastern Illinois Disaster Relief Fund allow us to respond quickly during times of crisis.” Pleasant added. “Together, we are helping families recover today while strengthening our communities for tomorrow.”

The Southeastern Illinois Disaster Relief Fund was established to support individuals, families, and communities affected by natural disasters across southeastern Illinois. Donations continue to help provide resources and assistance as long-term recovery efforts move forward.
