NEWTON — Jordan Patton and JD Finn claimed two victories in the opening harness racing card of the day at the Jasper County Fair Tuesday.
The first nine races had been postponed from Monday to Tuesday.
Patton drove Lous Lottery to a win in the third race of the card, the ISA 3-Year-Old Colt/Gelding Trot, Division 1. Patton and Lous Lottery went the distance in 2:07 3/5.
Patton then came back in the fifth race, the ISA 3-Year-Old FiIly Pace, Division I to win behind Variant.
Patton took Variant to the win in 2:00 3/5.
JD Finn also drove two winners on the card. Finn captured the Topline 3-Year-Old & Up Trot, Division 1. He won behind Tankmetodennyland in 2:02 2/5.
Finn then came right back in the very next race, the Topline 3-Year-Old & Up Trot, Division 2, to win behind Goomster.
The pair went the distance in 2:01 3/5.
Finn captured his third and fourth victories in the card that was scheduled for Tuesday.
Finn drove Goomzilla to the win in the ISA 2-Year-Old Colt/Gelding Trot, Division 1 in 2:05 4/5.
He then claimed the very next race, the ISA 2-Year-Old Colt/Gelding Trot, Division 2. He won behind Voomster in 2:11.
Matthew Avenatti picked up a victory in the postponed races. He took Fox Valley Mai Tai to a win in the ISA 3-Year-Old Filly Pace, Division 2. The pair went the distance in 2:01.
Avenatti then came back in the Tuesday races in the ISA 2-Year-Old Filly Pace, Division 1 to win behind Dee Should Do. The pair went the distance in 2:04.
Danarius Dortch and Marcus Detweiller were double race winners on the Tuesday card.
Dortch claimed the ISA 2-Year-Old Filly Pace, Division 2. Dortch guided Shopping Party to the win in 2:05 1/5.
Then in Race 8, the ISA 2-Year-Old Colt/Gelding Pace Division 2, Dortch was sitting behind Donray for the victory in 2:08.
Detweiller won back-to-back races. Detwiller guided Leon The Lion to the win in the Topline 2-Year-Old Pace in 2:07. He then changed horses and guided Peaceful Journey to a win in Division 1 of the Maiden Pace. The pair went the distance in 2:05 3/5.
