Good news for water and sewer customers in the Village of Teutopolis…the Village Board has decided to hold off on any rate increases for another year.
The decision to hold the line on rates came at the Board’s meeting Wednesday evening.
The Board awarded the bid for road oil to Larry Heuerman Trucking for $47,767.40. Road work is to begin soon. There was also discussion on authorizing Milano and Grunloh Engineers for design engineering related to plat and street design for a potential new TIF 3 subdivision. The village is considering the TIF district on the west edge of the village, south of the CSX Railroad.
The Board discussed changes to a lot in Prairie View Subdivision, but decided to leave the lot as it is, and decided to write off the remaining balance on a water bill at 37 Mainz Circle. Also, more discussion is likely on whether a homeowner should be allowed to install a culvert at 115 North Plum Street.
Board members decided to allow the Teutopolis Knights of Columbus to have a band perform until midnight at their picnic on June 12, and approved purchase of an easement at 316 South John Street for the Safe Routes to Schools project.
