Paul A. Cook, 88, of Neoga, Illinois died Wednesday June 3, 2026 at HSHS St Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.
He was born August 30, 1937 in East Cleveland, Ohio, son of Earl and Dolores Cook. He married Patricia Overmyer on August 24, 1958 in Neoga, Illinois. He was a model railroader with an emphasis on Illinois Central Railroad. He was an avid collector of trolleys and trains and cherished his vast collection and layout. Paul was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church. He was a member of the church choir and enjoyed singing in their cantatas.
Paul is survived by his wife Patricia; daughter, Faye (Dave) Malouf; son, Andrew (Kati) Cook; grandchildren, David (Laura) Malouf, Thomas (Kanik) Malouf, Meredith Cook, Maggie Cook.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Peter.
Visitation will be held Monday June 8, 2026 from 11am until a 12pm Life Celebration Service at Swengel-O’Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, Illinois. Burial will follow in Zion Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to Shriners Hospital or Wounded Warriors would be appreciated. The Swengel-O’Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, Illinois is assisting with arrangements.
