MORRISONVILLE — Brownstown/St. Elmo’s season came to a close in a Class 1A baseball regional semifinal at Morrisonville Wednesday.
The two teams played to a 0-0 tie through the first three innings before Morrisonville/Lincolnwood scored a run in the fourth. M/L tallied one more in the sixth for the 2-0 victory.
Brownstown/St. Elmo finished with three hits, all singles by Logan Lach, Zayden Gillespie and Lucas Powell.
BSE finished the season with a 10-12 record.
“We are forever grateful to our departing seniors, Lucas Powell, Keelan Speagle, Jayden Hughett and Raidon Beccue,” said BSE Coach Ryan Beccue.
In the other game, Nokomis defeated Greenfield, 13-5.
Nokomis and and Morrisonville will meet Saturday at 11 a.m. for the regional championship.

At Louisville
North Clay blanked South Central by a 13-0 count in five innings Wednesday.
North Clay advances to the regional championship game Saturday at 11 a.m. and will face either Dieterich or Casey-Westfield. Those two teams play today at 4 p.m.
At Neoga
Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond pounded Central A&M by a 13-3 count in the Class 1A Neoga Regional Wednesday.
Neoga will meet Arcola today at 4:30 p.m. for the right to advance to face ALAH Saturday for the regional championship.
At Altamont
The Class 1A Altamont Regional games were moved from Wednesday to Thursday due to wet grounds.
Today’s games will feature Altamont against Cumberland at 4:30 p.m. followed by Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg facing Red Hill (Bridgeport) at 7.
The winners will then advance to the championship game Saturday at 11 a.m.
