Effingham Junior High School competed in the Class 3A State Track Meet.
Three individual medals were awarded to seventh-graders Kynlie Rohr, fourth in the long jump, Anna Gouchenouer third in the 100 and Leah Ring third in the pole vault.
EJHS also earned three relay medals. Fourth place went to the eighth-grade x200 relay team of Cloie Bailey, Anna Gouchenouer, Rhylee Holland and K. Kelly.
The eighth-grade girls SM Relay of Gouchenouer, Bailey, Holland and Arabella Barnhart took sixth place.
Seventh place went to the seventh-grade boys 4×400 relay team of Tristan Reed, E. Gordon, Noah Hamilton, Jayden Zellers and alternate Ethan Yeager.
The seventh-grade girls finished eighth overall out of 60 scoring schools.
Jared Klingler was nominated and selected to read the Athlete’s Oath during the Walk of Athletes.
“We are so proud of everyone’s hard work, determination and teamwork this weekend,” said EJHS Coach Nancy Ervin.
