Steven Scott Hardiek, age 62, of Newton, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at his home.

Steven was born on January 10, 1964, in Effingham, Illinois, the son of Gerald and Luella (Hutmacher) Hardiek. He was a graduate of Dieterich High School. He loved tinkering on cars.
Steven is survived by Grandson whom he raised- Gage Thompson; Daughter- Andrea Hardiek; Step-Grandson- Mark Walker; Siblings- Geri (James “Jag”) Woods; Joe (Sheila) Hardiek; Mary Lynn (Larry) Carroll; Patty (Greg) Garbe; Mark (Brenda) Hardiek; Christy (Gary) Harder; Kara (Ron) Geier and Matt (Carol) Hardiek; Sister-in-Law- Marke Hardiek
Steven was preceded in death by his parents, son Christopher Hardiek, siblings Paul Hardiek, Larry Hardiek and Tracy Hardiek, wife Linda Marie and stepdaughter Jessica Nichole Thompson.
