Cumberland County board members Tuesday accepted John Knueppel’s resignation from the Board, effective June 1. Knueppel served on the Board from the Central District.

Those interested in filling the vacancy need to live in the Central District. They should contact Board Chairman Floyd Hoedebecke or the Republican Party chairman for the county.

Board members reappointed Ben Bland to the Housing Authority, and Ernie Kingery and Paul McKillip as Toledo Fire Protection District trustees. The Board also set the pay rates for the incoming County Clerk, County Treasurer, Circuit Clerk, and Supervisor of Assessments terms of office.

Board members agreed to appoint a committee to work with the 911 Board on an intergovernmental agreement, and reappointed Johnny St. John to the Board of Review for a two-year term. As to the 911 Board, new County Engineer Tom Kreke was appointed to the Board, and Janet Blade, Bob Swearingen, and Steve Maroon were reappointed to the Board. Scott Bland’s resignation from the 911 Board was accepted. Tony Wright was appointed to succeed Bland as chairman and Scott Justice was appointed as vice-chairman.
