Altamont school board members Monday acted on personnel matters. The Board accepted the resignation of Lindsay VanBlaricum as junior high softball coach, and a retirement notice for custodian Randy Arnold as of August 1. Doris Zerrusen was approved as a volunteer for high school girls basketball, and Josie Strauch was employed as an Ag teacher at the high school for the coming school year.

The Board heard from Maintenance Director Tayler Polk on a track shed demolition project, as well as track repairs, city drainage concerns, bus garage summer work, and junior high cooling tower repairs. The tentative amended budget for the current fiscal year was discussed, with final action expected at the June meeting.

Board members approved a senior class trip to Washington, DC in 2027, and discussed transportation fleet upgrades, specifically options for used activity bus purchases. Also, family and medical leave act leaves were approved for three employees.
