Matt Dasenbrock was elected President of the Effingham Park Board at Monday evening’s meeting. Kevin Palmer was elected Vice-President.
Board members Jeff Ungrund and Manny Wei were elected to the Budget Committee and will serve along with Park District Director Jeff Althoff and Treasurer Serena Buzzard.
Others appointed to positions included Attorney Phil Lading, and Recording Secretary Carole McDevitt. Althoff serves as Park District Secretary.
The Board agreed to hold their meetings at 5:30pm on the second Monday each month.
Park Board members approved a transfer of property from the City of Effingham to the Park District. The land involves a swap of the pond by the Workman Sports and Wellness Complex for an area next to Harmony Playground.
The Board discussed a leak in the lap pool at the Workman Complex and how to get that repaired. There was also discussion about constructing a pavilion and a restroom facility at Hendelmeyer Park, and that surfacing work is nearing completion at the tennis courts at Community Park.
