Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg edged out to a 1-0 lead on Neoga in the championship game of the National Trail Conference Softball Tournament Friday.
The Hatchets then went on to tally five runs in the second, two in the fourth and one in the sixth for the 9-0 victory and the championship.
Kendra Hayes threw a five-hitter with four strikeouts and only two walks. Hayes also hit a double and drove in a run.
Mya Friese finished with two singles, a triple and an RBI. Kinsley Dunaway banged out three singles and drove in two runs. Makenna Corrie had a double and an RBI while Clarissa Johnson and Cameron Carey added two singles each. Zaida Wascher finished with two RBI.
Neoga had five hits. Josalyn Brandenburg had a single and double.
The third place victory went to Effingham St. Anthony over Cumberland, 3-2.
The two teams played to a 1-1 opening inning tie before the Bulldogs moved ahead in the second, 2-1. But Cumberland came back to tie the score in the third. St. Anthony then won the game in the top of the seventh.
St. Anthony finished with six hits led by Claire Kinkelaar with a triple and an RBI, Emeline Wines with two singles and an RBI and Julia Schultz with an RBI.
The Pirates had eight hits led by Kada Miles with three singles and an RBI, Jude Miller with two singles and Jade Carr with an RBI.
Nancy Ruholl went the distance on the mound. She gave up two runs on eight hits, walked six and struck out four.
In the consolation championship, Dieterich pulled out a 7-3 victory over South Central.
Dieterich held a 1-0 lead in the second and led 3-2 in the fourth. South Central tied in the fifth but Dieterich came back strong with a three-run sixth and scored a final run in the seventh.
The Maroons led the way with eight hits. Callie Faller had two doubles and an RBI while Allison Boerngen had a single, double and an RBI. Lexie Funneman had a double and three RBI. Claire Faller chipped in with two singles, Kensi Stortzum a single and an RBI and Kinley Will with an RBI.
Boerngen picked up the pitching win. She went the last four innings, giving up three runs on three hits, one walk and striking out one.
