Effingham High School celebrated Senior Night by blanking Mount Vernon, 9-0 in tennis action Thursday.
Seniors recognized were Cannon Bockhorn and Enea Vendraminetto.
Bockhorn won his singles match by a 6-3, 6-0 tally at No. 2. Bockhorn and Vendraminetto then captured the No. 3 doubles victory, 6-3, 6-2.
Rece Kinney was a winner at the No. 1 singles spot by a 6-3, 6-1 tally. Joel Flack lost the opening set 6-4 but came back with 6-2, 10-5 tallies for his victory at No. 3. Brady Wilson won easily, 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4. No. 5 went to Noah Jones 6-1, 7-5. Cole Jones added to the singles wins by blanking his opponent 6-0, 6-0.
In doubles, the Hearts’ Flack and Wilson combined at No. 1 to win 6-1, 6-2. Noah and Cole Jones added to the wins at No. 2, 6-4, 6-0.
EHS improves to 12-2 on the season and returns to action Saturday at the Robinson Doubles Tournament.
