Local State Representative Adam Niemerg (R-Dieterich) gained passage of House Resolution 684 to honor the life of James “Jim” Bolin of Casey, who passed away in January. Bolin was the visionary behind “Big Things in A Small Town” and collected 12 Guinness World Records titles for 21 different objects, including the largest wind chime, largest rocking chair, and longest seesaw/teeter totter.
“Jim Bolin was known and loved by people everywhere, but most importantly by his family and friends in Casey,” said Rep. Niemerg. “When the resolution states ‘a suitable copy be presented to his family,’ we thought – what could be more suitable than the world’s largest resolution?”
Rep. Niemerg and fellow resolution sponsors Rep. Brad Halbrook, Rep. Chris Miller, and Rep. Blaine Wilhour will present the resolution to Bolin’s family on Thursday, May 7, at the Illinois State Capitol. The House will convene at 12:00 noon.
