Brownstown school board members hired Fulk Construction to handle construction work, including building vestibules at both the elementary school and the high school, and to build a science lab at the junior/senior high school. The board hired Ideal Environmental to complete an asbestos abatement project at the junior/senior high school.

Board members also agreed to seek commodity bids, approved membership in the IESA, and approved an intergovernmental agreement with Greenville University for a field experience program.

The Board approved an amended calendar for the remainder of the school year, accepted the resignation of Adam Wodtka as elementary evening custodian, and purchased a science curriculum for the junior high from SAVVAS Learning Company, as well as Take Off for Math curriculum at the elementary school.

Also approved were high school girls basketball summer shootout trips and the start of work on the budget for the coming fiscal year.

A public hearing on an amended budget for the school year was scheduled for June 15.
