It’s a long way from Leipzig, Germany to Effingham County, Illinois, but Lenny Grossel is making the most of his time here, while hailing from there.
Lenny is studying at Effingham High School, while splitting his time living with Mike and Lynn Kirchhoff and Delbert and Beverly Soltwedel. He is spending the year locally through the exchange program sponsored by Rotary International and the Effingham Noon Rotary Club.
Lenny lives in Leipzig and thinks he might follow his father in a career as an electrician. His sister has also been an exchange student.
Leipzig is in eastern Germany. He’s young enough that Germany had reunified before he was born. A recent presentation to Noon Rotary about his time here and his life in Germany led to many questions from Rotarians.
