 Windsor/Stras-Stras Victorious In Extra Inning, Altamont, North Clay Win, St. A Falls In H.S. Baseball

WINDSOR — Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg held a 1-0 lead in a high school baseball game against Marshall after four innings Friday.

That’s where the scoring stood until Marshall tied in the top of the sixth.

The game went into an extra inning and in the bottom of the eighth, Windsor/Stew-Stras scored the winning run for a 2-1 victory. With one out, Branson Tingley hit a single scoring Eli Jones from third.

Tingley held off the Lions. He gave up one run on seven hits, two walks while striking out seven in the eight innings.

Meanwhile, he helped his own cause offensively with two singles and an RBI. Grayson McCray finished with three singles while Carter Verdeyen added a single.

Marshall was led by Garrett Pugh with a double, home run and an RBI, Max Welsh a single and double and Eli Thompson a double.

At Windsor

At Altamont

Altamont scored all the runs it needed in the fourth inning as the Indians defeated Richland County, Olney, 3-1 Friday.

Kade Milleville guided the Indians on the mound, going all seven innings, striking out six, not allowing a walk and scattering five hits.

Richland County took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth but that was the lone run the team scored.

Altamont came back in the bottom of the fourth with all three of its runs. The Indians had only three hits, all singles by K. Milleville, Carson Milleville and Zaine Miller. Earning RBI were Blake Berg and Will Reardon.

At Centralia

North Clay improved its record to 20-3 on the season with a victory over Centralia Friday.

The Cardinals won by a 4-1 tally.

North Clay will be back in action Tuesday at Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg in a 4:30 p.m. contest.

 

At St. Anthony

Charleston came to visit Effingham St. Anthony and went home with a 6-3 victory over the Bulldogs Friday.

The Trojans moved into a 1-0 lead in the second then scored four in the third and finished with one in the fifth.

The Bulldogs scored a lone run in the third and two more in the fifth.

Both teams had seven hits and an error each. Blake Verdeyen led the way for the Bulldogs with two singles and two RBI while Jonny Gannaway added two singles. Aiden Lauritzen chipped in with a triple and an RBI while Curtis Tingley added a double.

At St. Anthony
