Effingham St. Anthony played host to boys and girls high school track meets Monday.
Stewardson-Strasburg edged out St. Anthony 128-127 in the boys meet followed by Neoga 103, Brownstown/St. Elmo 79, North Clay 20 and Woodlawn 4.
Bryar Cowger won the 100 for Stew-Stras in 12.1 seconds and was second in the 400 in 56.1.
The Stew-Stras 4×100 relay team won in 46.8 seconds. Team members were Ryan Harris, Evan Pfeiffer, Blake Owens and Cowger.
Eli Hiatt was a triple event winner for St. Anthony takIng the 300 hurdles in 42.5 seconds and the 110 hurdles in 15.9. He also won the long jump at 6.01 meters. Ben Hille won the triple jump at 11.48 meters.
St. Anthony’s Camden Bloemer claimed the 1600 in 4:42.5 minutes and Elijah Whittier won the 3200 in 10:43.4. Marcus Geen claimed the shot with a heave of 12.35 meters.
The Bulldogs won the 4×800 relay in 13:17.7 minutes with team members Whittier, Bloemer, Julius Ramos and Isaac Tays.
Neoga’s Brett Matusas claimed the 800 in 2:06.3. Brayden Ray won the high jump at 1.73 meters. Liam Strohl was a winner in the pole vault at 2.90 meters.
Neoga’s 4×400 relay team of Jayton Hanfland, Asher Cardinal, Brett Matusas and Brayden Ray won in 3:44.8.
Brownstown/St. Elmo’s 4×200 relay team of Cory Stufflebeam, Kyle Seabaugh, Drake Ledbetter and Jaxon Moore won in 1:38.7.
Tucker Davison won the discus for the Bombers with a toss of 35.76 meters.
In the girls meet, St. Anthony was the winner with 225 points followed by North Clay 59, Brownstown/St. Elmo 45, Stewardson-Strasburg 25 and Neoga 16.
Elisabeth Grunloh was a winner in the 100 for the Bulldogs in 14.1 seconds. Sophia Emmerich took the 200 in 29.8. Reese Hoene claimed the 400 in 57.2 and Aubrey Denning was a winner in the 800 in 2:19.8 minutes.
The Bulldogs won the 4×100 relay in 56.2 seconds. Team members were Emmerich, Grace Jackson, Gwyn Ishmael and Cara Hatton. The 4×200 relay team of Emmerich, Jackson, Ishmael and Grunloh won in 2:01.6. The 4×400 relay team of Audrey LaSarge, Rachel Emmerich, Denning and Grunloh won in 2:01.6.
Hoene was a winner in the long jump at 5.18 meters and the triple jump at 10.48 meters. Madilyn Haarmann won the discus for the Bulldogs with a throw of 31.29 meters. The pole vault went to Taylor Denning at 2.59 meters. Emmerich claimed the high jump at 1.42 meters.
North Clay’s Karsyn Gaddy won the shot with a heave of 9.73 meters.
North Clay’s Meila Robey won the 1600 in 6:09.7 minutes. Isabella Price was a winner in the 100 hurdles for the Cardinals in 19.2 seconds.
Emma Hickman was a winner in the 3200 for Stewardson-Strasburg in 14:32.5 minutes.
