 Neoga, Altamont, Dieterich Winners, T-town Edges EHS In JV Play In Friday High School Baseball

NEOGA — All the runs in this high school baseball game were scored in the first two innings as Neoga handed Sullivan a 6-1 loss Friday.

The Indians ran out to a 6-0 opening inning lead. Sullivan came back with its lone run in the second.

Neoga finished with six hits that included two doubles and an RBI off the bat of Garrett Ballinger. Jude Finney had two singles and an RBI while Brett Matusas added a single and drove in two runs.

Cayden Hakman went the distance, giving up one run on four hits. He didn’t allow a walk and struck out four.

At Neoga

At Roxana

Altamont tallied single runs in the first, fourth and fifth to blank Roxana 3-0 Friday.

The Indians’ Kade Milleville was on both from the mound and offensively. Milleville went the 6.2 innings, giving up only two hits, four walks while striking out 12.

Milleville then finished with two singles.

Cooper McManaway banged out two doubles and drove in a run. Carson Milleville and Kaiden Wolff hit a single and had an RBI each.

At Dieterich

Dieterich went wild from the plate, knocking out 14 hits, and finished by pounding Cisne to the tune of 17-2 in four innings Friday.

Bryce Bohnhoff went the distance on the mound. He gave up three runs on two hits, two walks and striking out nine.

The Maroons were led in hitting by Gavin Meinhart with a triple and three RBI, Andrew Hall with a single, double and an RBI, Bryce Bohnhoff and Gaddison Goeckner with two singles and two RBI each, Jackson Icenogle with with a double and an RBI. Mason Lidy had two singles and Cooper Stortzum and Carson Baxter with a single and two RBI each. Colin Nichols added an RBI.

Bohnhoff went the four innings on the mound He gave up two runs on three hits, two walks and struck out nine.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis edged Effingham in junior varsity baseball play Friday, 13-11.

The Hearts held a 6-4 lead in the opening inning but T-town came back with four runs in the bottom of the second. Effingham tied the score at 8-8 in the top of the fourth only to see T-town came back with four runs in the fifth and one in the sixth. Effingham mounted another comeback, this one in the top of the seventh, scoring three runs only to fall short.

The Wooden Shoes finished with 10 hits led by Eric Weidner with a double, home run and three RBI while O. Lynch added a double and three RBI and Will Bushur a double. B. Schumacher added two singles and an RBI and Ozzie Pals with a single and two RBI.

Effingham played power ball with three home runs and two doubles. T. Raddatz had a single, home run and two RBI while H. Nelson added a home run and three RBI. B. Jones had a solo homer. C. Westjohn and J. Wendt had a double and an RBI each and I. Kinkelaar a single and two RBI. D. Thompson added an RBI. while I. Kinkelaar had a single and two RBI.
