BEECHER CITY — Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City edged out into a 1-0 lead over Brownstown/St. Elmo Tuesday and went on for a 12-6 high school baseball victory.

The Bobcats finished with five hits as did Brownstown/St. Elmo. Kale Hardimon hit a home run and finished with three RBI while Clive Schlanser also had three RBI behind a single and triple. Ben Askins tallied a single, double and two RBI.

Schlanser was the winning pitcher.

Brownstown/St. Elmo was led by Logan Lach with a double, Nolan Wilhour with two singles and Jayden Hughett with an RBI.

At Beecher City

At Neoga

Neoga came through with a run in the bottom of the eighth to edge Okaw Valley, 3-2 Tuesday.

The Indians held a 1-0 lead in the second and pushed that to 2-0 in the fifth. But Okaw Valley came back with a run in the sixth and tied the score in the top of the seventh.

Neoga scored the winning run on a passed ball.

Malik Coy went the eight innings on the mound. He gave up two runs on seven hits. He did not allow a walk and struck out 14.

Neoga finished with nine hits. Braylon Sparrow hit a solo home run. Evan Fearday had a double while Garrett Ballinger and Coy finished with two singles each.

Okaw Valley’s Wyatt Bell hit a solo home run and Easton Drollinger had two singles and double.

At Ramsey

Altamont High School ended this game in the fifth inning via the 10-run rule over Ramsey, 12-0 Tuesday.

Carson Milleville tossed a one-hitter. He did not give up a walk and struck out seven.

The Indians moved into a 4-0 opening inning lead then had a five-run second.

Altamont finished with 11 hits led by Parker Bell with a single, home run and two RBI while Blake Berg tallied two singles, a double and two RBI. Cooper McManaway had a single, double and an RBI while Will Reardon added a single and two RBI. Zaine Miller finished with a single and an RBI and Reed Stuemke added an RBI.

At Ramsey

At Robinson

Teutopolis moved into a 3-0 opening inning lead and ended this game in the fourth inning against Robinson by a 16-1 count Tuesday.

The Wooden Shoes finished with 12 hits and were aided by four errors by Robinson and drawing six walks.

The Shoes’ Jason Kreke ended the game with four singles and drove in two runs. Davin Worman had three singles and two RBI while Aidan Niemerg added two singles and three RBI. Austin Borries and Teagan Pals tallied a single and two RBI each while Nolan Schumacher had two singles and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Borries went three innings, giving up one hit and striking out two for the win. Gavin Addis went the final inning with three strikeouts.

The Shoes are now 12-1 on the season while Robinson dropped to 7-7. Borries moved his pitching record to 3-0.

T-town is back in action at Dieterich Thursday.

In freshman/sophomore action, Chatham Glenwood edged the Shoes, 7-6.

The score was tied at 4-4 after three innings. T-town moved ahead with two runs in the fourth but Glenwood came right back in the fifth with three runs.

Luke Niebrugge had a single, double and three RBI.

Newton blanked Dieterich by a 10-0 count in five innings Tuesday.

Gavin Meinhart tossed a no-hitter. He gave up only one walk.

The Eagles moved into a 3-0 lead in the third inning, then tacked on one in the fourth and ended the game with a six-run fifth inning.

Newton finished with eight hits led by Quincy Fulton with two singles, a double and an RBI, Dominic Baltzell with a single and two RBI, Nolen Cleaver with two RBI. Drake Wolf added a single and an RBI and David Ferguson an RBI.

At Mount Zion

Effingham collected eight hits while only giving up four against Mount Zion but the Hearts fell in a 3-2 contest Tuesday.

Max Flack had a single and double while Carter Braddy, Westin Hayes and Andrew Wagoner had two singles each for the Hearts. Braddy and Hayes had an RBI each.

Braddy suffered the pitching loss. He went six innings giving up three runs on four hits, four walks and striking out eight.

The Braves moved into a 3-0 lead in the second inning. Effingham fought back with single runs in the third and fourth but fell short.

Davis Venters led the Braves with a single and double.

In junior varsity play, Effingham was a 5-1 winner behind an 11-hit attack. TJ Raddatz had a single and triple while Braden Jones had two singles and two RBI and Carter Kalber two singles. Ian Kinkelaar added a single and an RBI.

The Hearts return to action today playing host to Mount Zion.

At Mount Carmel

Mount Carmel played host to North Clay and edged the Cardinals, 7-6 Tuesday.

North Clay dropped to 14-3 on the season. The Cardinals will be back in action Thursday against Effingham in a 4:30 p.m. contest.
