 St. Anthony, Dieterich, Newton, Teutopolis Compete in Boys Olney Track Invitational

NEWTON — St. Anthony, Dieterich, Newton, Teutopolis competed in the Richland County, Olney Boys Track Invitational Friday at Newton High School.

Olney won its own meet with 120 points followed by Charleston 74.5, Benton 71.5, Salem 64, Paris 62, Fairfield 49, Flora 48, Champaign St. Thomas More 42, Teutopolis 38, Effingham St. Anthony 34, Newton 26, Mattoon 20, Mount Carmel 20, Dieterich 12, Robinson 9 and Lawrenceville 2.

T-town’s Karson Zerrusen claimed first place in the 110 hurdles in 15.09 seconds while St. Anthony’s Eli Hiatt was second in 15.63.

Brant Niebrugge finished second for the Shoes in the pole vault at 3.95 meters.

St. Anthony’s Hiatt finished first in the 300 hurdles in 40.10 seconds. T-town’s Karson Zerrusen was third in 41.49.

Dieterich’s Trevor Crutcher took third in the 1600 in 4:34.61 and was third in the 3200 in 9:42.79 minutes.

Newton’s 4×400 relay team of Daniel Falcioni, Holden Barthelemy, Dylan Earnest and Ian Kessler was second in 3:56.10 minutes. The 4×200 relay team of Brayan Ramos, Kaleb Iffert, Evan Holder and Beau Bennett finished third in 1:49.92 minutes.

St. Anthony’s 4×800 relay team of Elijah Whittier, Julius Ramos, Oliver Kreke and Isaac Tays finished third in 8:46.60.

In the boys freshman/sophomore meet, Olney was the winner with 20 points followed by Newton 14, Flora 12, Mattoon 9, Charleston 6, Robinson 6, Mount Carmel 5, Champaign St. Thomas More 2 and Benton 1.
