 St. Anthony Girls Second, Boys Third At Sullivan Quad Track Meets

SULLIVAN — Effingham St. Anthony competed in the Sullivan boys and girls high school triangular track meets Tuesday.

The Bulldogs finished second in the girls meet. Sullivan won with 76 points followed by St. Anthony 46 and Cerro Gordo-Bement 42.

In the boys meet, Tuscola won with 111 points followed by Sullivan 84, St. Anthony 52 and Cerro Gordo-Bement 17.

Aubrey Denning was a winner in two events for the Bulldogs. Denning won the 800 with a time of 2:25.46 minutes and the 1600 in 5:31.49. Nora Niebrugge finished second in the 800 in 2:50.05.

Liv Hoene finished second in the 100 hurdles with a time of 18.52 seconds.

The 4×200 relay of Sophia Emmerich, Gwyn Ishmael, Elisabeth Grunloh and Cara Hattoon took second in 1:57.98.

In field events, Madilyn Haarmann won the shot with a heave of 9.83 meters while teammate Callie Emmerich placed second at 8.87 meters.

Haarman also claimed the discus victory with a throw of 28.50 meters.

Sophia Emmerich was second in the high jump at 1.42 meters. Teammate Taylor Denning took second in the pole vault at 2.13 meters. Reese Hoene was second in the long jump at 5.11 meters.

In the boys meet, St. Anthony’s Eli Hiatt claimed the 110 hurdle in 16.33 seconds and won the 300 hurdles in 42.12.

St. Anthony’s Isaac Tays won the 800 in 2:04.49 minutes. Camden Bloemer won the 3200 in 10:27.66.

The 4×400 relay team of Camden Bloemer, Eli Hiatt, Riley Milelr and Julius Ramos won in 3:40.77 minutes.

Riley Miller took second in the 400 with a time of 55.07 sec. Julius Ramos was second in the 1600 in 4:52.29 minutes.

The 4×800 relay team finished second in 9:50.46 minutes. Team members were Elijah Whittier, Isaac Tays, Julius Ramos and Olvier Kreke.

Riley Miller was the lone St. Anthony field event competitor who placed second in the pole vault with a vault of 3.35 meters.
