Flossie L. McDowell, age 84, St. Elmo, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2026 at the Haven in St. Elmo, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the New Horizon Church, St. Elmo, Illinois with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to start of services. Pee Wee Denton will be officiating. Burial will take place in the Green Hill Cemetery, Van Burensburg, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the New Horizons Church or donor’s choice. Online condolences may be left at www.pagelfuneralhome.com.
Flossie was born on March 30, 1941, in Brownstown, Illinois, the daughter of Hallie Garrison and Irma (Blankenship) Garrison. She married Dale McDowell on October 10, 1965 in Altamont, Illinois. She was a faithful member of the New Horizon Church, St. Elmo, Illinois. She spent time doing word puzzles and loved spending her time with her grandchildren.
Flossie is survived her son; Jeffery (wife, Shelley) McDowell of Brownstown, Illinois, one daughter; Sandra McDowell of St. Elmo, Illinois, one brother; Russell (wife, Rennie) Garrison of Tamms, Illinois, two sisters; Norma Tharp and Carolyn Stogsdill both of Shelbyville, Illinois, two grandchildren; Brady (wife, Rachel) McDowell of Effingham, Illinois, Riley McDowell of Brownstown and two great-grandchildren; Nash and Emree.
She was preceded by her parents, Hallie Garrison and Irma Garrison, husband, Dale, brothers, Lawrence “Frog” Garrison, Dennis “Gene” Garrison, and Allen Garrison, and one great-grandson, Caliber.
