STRASBURG — Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg scored a run in the second inning but that didn’t last long as Robinson came back to tie in the top of the third in a Saturday high school contest at the WSS Baseball Round Robin.
Windsor/Stew-Stras then moved into a 3-1 lead in the third but Robinson, once again, came back with a run in the fifth and tied the score at 3-3 in the top of the seventh.
However, the Hatchets had saved a run until the bottom of the seventh to pull out a 4-3 victory.
The Hatchets had eight hits led by Seth Rincker with two singles and an RBI. Branson Tingley, Carter Verdeyen and Parker Duncan added a double each and Jakob Gurgel finished with a single and an RBI. Mason Manhart also added an RBI.
Noah Pruemer tossed the three-hitter with four walks and three strikeouts for the win on the mound.
In the other contest, Windsor/Stew-Stras won over Tuscola 9-3.
The two teams were tied at 1-1 in the third and Tuscola moved into a 2-1 lead in the fourth. But the Hatchets came back with a five-run fifth and a three-run sixth for the win.
Both teams had eight hits. The Hatchets were led by Wyatt Wetherell and Carter Verdeyen with two singles each. Verdeyen added an RBI. Derk Friese, Branson Tingley and Oliver Wascher added a single and an RBI each and Mason Manhart had two RBI. Jakob Gurgel added an RBI.
Friese picked up the pitching win, going two innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out three in relief.

At Breese
Effingham St. Anthony traveled to Breese Central and picked up a 9-3 victory behind 13 hits Saturday.
The Bulldogs moved ahead 1-0 in the second but Breese Central came back with three runs in the third. It wasn’t until the sixth, the Bulldogs went on a run, scoring three to lead 4-3 then socked the game away with a five-run seventh.
Will Bierman had three singles and an RBI while Charley Spour had three singles. Will Vonderheide finished with two singles and two RBI and Rogan Allen a single and three RBI. Blake Verdeyen added a single and an RBI and Quentin Stephens an RBI.
Chase Dorris went the first four innings but Xander Beals came on in relief to finish out the final three for the victory. Beals did not give up a hit, allowed one walk and struck out four.
Breese Central scored the winning run in the top of the seventh for a 2-1 victory over Effingham St. Anthony’s junior varsity Saturday.
The Bulldogs held a 1-0 lead in the third but Breese Central tied in the fourth then scored the winning run.
St. Anthony had a slight 7-6 edge in hitting. Ben McDonald and M. Fearday hit a double each while Andrew Wagner had a single and an RBI and Curtis Tingley two singles.

Carter Braddy was dominant on the bump for Effingham as he rang up 13 strikeouts in six innings. He gave up three runs on five hits and walked four as the Hearts edged Mount Vernon, 5-4 Saturday.
Meanwhile the Hearts finished with seven hits led by Andrew Wagoner with a solo home run, Braddy and Brody Boehm added a single and double each. Boehm picked up an RBI. Flack finished with a double and three RBI.
The Hearts will be back in action Tuesday against Salem.
The Effingham junior varsity blanked Mount Vernon, 10-0 in five innings.
The Hearts had nine hits in the contest led by Dagg Thompson with a single, two doubles and three RBI and Carter Kalber with two singles and an RBI. N. Wernsing added a double and an RBI and Owen Schuette had a single and two RBI.

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond came calling and downed Neoga by a 13-4 tally Saturday.
Neoga held a 1-0 lead in the first and a 2-0 lead in the second. But ALAH came back to move ahead 3-2 in the third then had a seven-run fifth and finished off with a run in the sixth and two in the seventh.
ALAH had 14 hits in the contest and was aided by seven Neoga errors.
Neoga was led by Brayton Sparrow with three singles and two RBI, Malik Coy with a single and double, Garrett Ballinger with two singles, Jude Finney wtih a single and an RBI and Grady Haarman with an RBI.

But the Cardinals fell in the second game, 6-4.
North Clay is back in action today at Okaw Valley in a 4:30 p.m. contest.
