Randy D. Shelly age 58, of Newton passed away Friday, March 20, 2026 at his home.
Funeral services celebrating Randy’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2026, at the Crain Funeral Home, Newton with Pastor Tom Matson officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until time of services on Friday in the funeral home. Burial will be in the South Muddy Cemetery, rural Jasper County.
Randy was born on June 6, 1967, in Olney, Illinois the son of John and Ruth (Cook) Shelly. After a decade together, Randy married Angela McKee on November 18, 2009. In 2001, Randy completed his schooling for truck driving. He was an over the road truck driver for over twenty years. In addition to trucking, Randy completed his EMT schooling and served as a volunteer fireman with the Willow Hill Fire Department. In his free time, Randy loved spending time with his family and friends, especially the kids and grandkids.
Randy will be loved and remembered by his wife Angela Shelly of Newton; children Brittney McKee (Brent Johnson) of Willow Hill; Dakota Harris (Malachi Montague) of Mattoon and Michael (Abbey) Kinsel of Ridge Farm, IL; six grandchildren, Natalya Stone, Gryffindor Montague, Aly Kinsel, Grace Slawson, Lyla Montague and Brooklyn Kinsel; and sister Misti (Troy) Woods of Warner Robins, GA.
His father and step-mother, John and Berdena Shelly, mother and stepfather, Ruth and Clarence Hathaway and sisters, Linda, Bev and Rita preceded him in death.
Memorial gifts in honor of Randy may be made to the Jasper County Cancer Support Fund.
