Stewardson Trinity won the SIJHSAA Class S Regional. Stewardson Trinity Lutheran won the championship of its own Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic Association Region Tuesday.
Trinity Lutheran defeated Iuka, 25-16, 25-0 while Patoka was a winner over St. Peter, 25-16, 25-18.
In the final round, Stewardson Trinity defeated Patoka, 25-14, 25-17.
Stewardson Trinity now advances to meet the winner of Region 10.
Region 10 includes St. Peter and Paul Catholic of Collinsville, St. John Neumann Catholic School of Maryville, St. Mary’s Catholic of Alton, St. Mary’s School of Edwardsville and St. Boniface of Edwardsville.
Those teams will be playing today with the finals Thursday.
“Coming off two good wins last Friday, the girls continue to play aggressively,” said Stewardson Trinity Coach Tammy Manhart. “They are working so well together. Everyone contributes. They are so fun to watch. We have hopes for a good run at State.”
