Phillip Starr Brown, 69, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026 at home following a brief illness.
A private family burial will be in Old Union Cemetery in rural Louisville, IL. Online condolences may be shared at johnsonandsonsfh.com.
Phillip was born on March 1, 1957, in Wichita, KS, the son of Richard Roy and Gerene (Powers) Brown. In his early years, Phillip worked as a deputy sheriff, did security for Brinks, and then drove a semi over the road. He was most known for being a caterer for Niemerg’s in his later years. Phillip had a love for all animals. Phillip was the biggest Alice Cooper fan and attended every concert that he could. He was also an avid collector of military memorabilia.
Phillip is survived by his fiancé, Lori Klein; his bonus children, Alexis (Jeremy) Blackwell, Jason (Lessica) DeLong, and Gabby (Drew) Hopper; bonus grandchildren, James, Krystine, Chloe, Ami,
and Eloise.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Twila; and daughter Stephanie.
