Altamont Lutheran dropped a loss in opening round play of the Class 7-1A State Volleyball Tournament Saturday at Clinton Junior High School.
Decatur Unity was the winner, 25-21, 26-24.
Altamont Lutheran was led by Hadley Grobengieser with two aces and Zoey Kraemer with eight service points. Altamont Lutheran ended the season with a 17-3 record.
In other first round matches, Cissna Park beat LaSalle St. Acutis, 25-22, 25-16; Ottawa Marquette won over Peoria St. Jude, 25-23, 25-10 and Hartsburg-Emden beat Carrollton St. Johns, 25-21, 23-25, 25-21.
In the semifinals, Ottawa Marquette beat Cissna Park, 25-19, 25-19 and Hartsburg-Emden defeated Decatur Unity 25-22, 25-22.
The championship match went to Hartsburg-Emden over Ottawa Marquette. Ottawa Marquette won the opening set 25-19. Hartsburg-Emden then came back 25-22, 25-19. The champions ended with 21-7 record.
Third place was claimed by Decatur Unity over Cissna Park, 25-19, 25-19.
