Bensyn Ellis Lea Linder, infant daughter of Gary and Sophia Linder of Altamont, IL, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, in St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
A visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2026, in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 N. Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565. Words of comfort will be shared with family and friends at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday by Rev. Dave Dolan. Following the service there will be a meal at the Shumway Kluthe Community Building (104 East Front Street, Shumway, IL). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family in care of the funeral home.
Bensyn was born on February 9, 2026, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Gary Steven and Sophia Alexis Renee (Foster) Linder.
Bensyn is survived by her loving parents; sister, Paisleigh Linder; paternal grandparents, Rodney and Janice Linder of Mason, IL; maternal grandfather, Benjamin Foster (Carrie Drennan) of Wheeler, IL; paternal great grandmother, Cathy Rexroad of Effingham, IL; maternal great grandparents, Donald Foster of Effingham, IL and Daniel and Gaye Adrian ofFindlay, IL; aunts and uncles, Debra and Chris Evans of Altamont, IL, Tasha Vansant (James Birdwell) of Beecher City, IL, Greg Rice (Tonia Harris) of Watson, IL, Jacob Foster ofEffingham, IL, Quentin and Courtney Cunningham of Effingham, IL and Alyssa Cunningham of Altamont, IL; and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her paternal great grandparents, Arnold Rexroad, Sr. and Violet Ellen Morrison; and her maternal great grandmother, Elizabeth Foster.
