The 2026 Effingham Polar Plunge made quite an impact.
Region I Assistant Director for Development for Special Olympics Illinois Vanessa Duncan said $50,712 was raised in support of local Special Olympics Illinois athletes. Duncan said the February 28 event at Lake Sara went off “seamlessly”…set-up, registration, on the beach, and at the post-plunge party.
