Teutopolis school officials continue moving ahead with construction projects in the district.
Board members Monday heard that facility tours and listening session schedules are pending for the possible renovation of the grade school. It was also shared that construction has begun on the expansion of the junior high building, and that remaining punch list items on the high school cafeteria project are nearing completion.
Concerning the grade school renovation, additional schematic drawings are under review, and staff discussion and public viewing will be shared at upcoming listening sessions.
Also Monday, the Teutopolis board heard from Jake Schumacher of the Teutopolis FFA alumni and supporters. The Board set high school graduation for May 17 at 2:30pm and junior high promotion for May 21 at 7pm. The school calendar for the coming year was approved and a parent engagement policy for the coming school year was approved.
In personnel moves, the Teutopolis board accepted the irrevocable resignations from Rachel Buening as a grade school teacher, Nicole Vineyard as junior high cheer sponsor, and Nick Hartke as a high school volleyball assistant, although Hartke will remain a volunteer. The Board also hired Lindsey Scherer as high school Ag teacher and FFA sponsor for the coming school year and hired Will Lewis as high school tennis volunteer for the coming season.
